Singapore Airlines will change it's current Wellington-Canberra-Singapore route to Wellington-Melbourne-Singapore. It has not clearly been specified why Singapore Airlines is doing this but it is likely because of demand from Canberra. The Wlg-Mel-Sin route will operate as SQ248 and SQ247 on the return trip and will use the current B772 and the Canberra-Singapore will operate as SQ288 and will use a B773. SQ248/SQ247 will have 4 flights weekly (Mon, Wed, Fri and Sun). SQ288 will fly daily. This will change tomorrow, The 3rd of May.
